Rev. Dr. Douglas Griffith

(M) Doug's family picture 2Pastor Griffith and his wife Cindy were married in 1980. They have three wonderful children, Katie (22), Mary (20), and Luke (17). Doug was born in Lancaster, PA. As he grew up his family lived in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Illinois, and Connecticut. He became a Christian in 1972. Doug attended Furman University in Greenville, SC from 1975-1979 and received a Bachelor of Science degree. After sensing a call to ministry he attended Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis, MO from 1979-1984 where he received a Masters of Divinity degree, and was ordained in 1984 as a minister in the Presbyterian Church in America. Doug served as a part time Youth Pastor at Concord Presbyterian Church in Waterloo, Ill. from 1980-1982 while attending seminary. He served as a Youth Pastor and Assistant Pastor at Second Presbyterian Church in Greenville, SC from 1982-1986. He served as an Associate Pastor at Westminster Presbyterian in Atlanta, GA from 1986-1990. In 1990 Doug and his family moved to Peachtree City and he became the Church Planter and Organizing Pastor of Carriage Lane Presbyterian Church. In 2005 Doug received an earned Doctorate from Covenant Theological Seminary. His wife, Cindy, has been a great help and support to Doug and the church. She has been responsible for helping begin and develop a number of ministries early in the life of the church. In addition to her continued involvement at Carriage Lane, Cindy works full-time as an ISC Applicant Liason at Leadership Development International, a Christian ministry to China.

Rev. Timothy Gwin

Tim is a covenant child and a Peachtree City native. He is married to Rosie. They lived in Colorado the first 2 years of marriage, where Rosie taught High School, and Tim was employed by Natural Balance, Inc., as a Territory Manager. That is when he began attending seminary at New Geneva in Colorado Springs. During that time, Tim helped lead the youth ministry at Redeemer PCA in Parker. After two years, the Gwins were transferred back to Atlanta. Tim transferred to Reformed Theological Seminary and graduated from the Orlando campus in May 2006 with a Master of Divinity. Tim has completed two-thirds of the course work for a Master of Theology with an emphasis in Reformation Theology and should graduate in 2008.


For almost 7 years, Tim has been teaching and leading the college ministry at Carriage Lane.  In that time, he has taught a complete series on Systematic Theology; a series on Paul's Epistles; a series on Desiring God; selected passages in the Gospels, and a series on Evangelism and Apologetics. In March of 2006, he started leading the men's Bible Study and fellowship. Since then, Tim has taught through Philippians and 1 & 2 Thessalonians, Jonah, and Acts. The current study is in Paul’s letter to the Romans. Before the Men's Bible Study and fellowship on Wednesday evening, he leads a time of corporate prayer for the people and ministries of Carriage Lane. Tim also helps lead and teach the Good News Bible Club at Huddleston Elementary, which he attended himself in fourth through sixth grade. Tim has also helped lead foreign mission trips to Peru. His greatest joy and privilege is to preach and teach the Word of God.

Rev. Michael Dixon

Associate Pastor/Youth Pastor

Michael and his wife Nikki are excited because they are expecting!!  They were married in 2004 and, Lord willing, should have their first child in March of 2008.  Michael grew up in Charlotte, NC as a covenant child of Christ Covenant Church PCA.  He attended Covenant College from 1997-2001 and earned a BA in History.  He moved back to Charlotte and attended Reformed Theological Seminary.  He earned a Masters of Divinity from the school in 2005.  He has been working at Carriage Lane since 1999 in the summers as the summer youth intern.  He has been here as fulltime youth pastor since January 2004.  Michael was ordained as a PCA pastor in November of 2007. He has a great passion to see youth walk with Christ, and to see churches grow healthy through the teaching of the Word, prayer, and worship.

Benjamin Mason

Director of Music and Worship

Ben has been the director of music and worship at Carriage Lane since June 2005. He grew up in northern Virginia and moved to Georgia from Baltimore, Maryland. Ben holds his undergraduate and masters degrees from The Peabody Institute at Johns Hopkins University and is currently pursuing additional graduate studies at the University of Georgia.

Grace Swartz

Administrative Assistant

Grace married her husband, Dan, in 1980. The Lord has blessed them with three children, Ryan (22), Michele (20), and Justin (16). Grace grew up as a PK (Preacher's Kid) in Western Pennsylvania. She graduated from Clarion University of Pennsylvania with a BS in Elementary Education. She and Dan served for 21 years with Campus Crusade for Christ in California and Georgia. They have been members of Carriage Lane since 1991. Grace has worked at CLPC since April 2002, first as a secretarial assistant, later as Children's Ministry Director and currently as Administrative Assistant. Her ministry passion is for global missions, having led several mission teams to Romania, Czech Republic, and Mexico.

Laura Jones

Laura and her husband Stephen have been married for 20 years.They have 3 children, Nathan(19), Phillip(17), and Alaina(12). Laura grew up in Jonesboro Ga and was a member of  Jonesboro United Methodist Church.Except for a few years, Laura has always lived in the Atlanta area. She graduated from Georgia Baptist School of Nursing in 1987 and worked as a pediatric nurse for 11 years before becoming a full time mom. She and her family joined CLPC in 2000. Laura was involved in children's Sunday School, VBS, the children's mid-week program, as well as youth group. She has worked at Carriage Lane since May 2005.

Cindy Snow

Secretarial Assistant

Cindy is married to her devoted husband of 35 years, Rick. She grew up in Atlanta and moved to Knoxville, Tennessee with Rick.
Cindy has 13 years experience as a trainer in the banking industry. She also has 20 years experience as an administrative assistant.
Cindy and Rick moved to Peachtree City in 2002. They have been members of Carriage Lane since 2004. Cindy joined the church staff in March 2007.

Allyson Janos

Nursery Coordinator

Allyson has been a member of Carriage Lane PCA for 9 years, many of those years as a teacher in the two and the three year old classes. She took the position as Nursery Coordinator that had been lovingly filled by Lil Bowers, in the Spring of '07. Her husband, Greg, is an elder and teaches in the adult Sunday School department. Allyson graduated from Arizona State University with a degree in Sociology with a Social Welfare emphasis. She worked in the pre-school at Camelback Bible Church in Paradise Valley, Arizona before moving to Georgia. Greg and Allyson have three children: Tesia, Jonathan and Allyssa.

Gerald Longe

Gerald has been a member of Carriage Lane since 1995.  He is a Certified Public Accountant and brings a wealth of experience from the corporate world and charitable work to his role in the finance office at Carriage Lane where he handles payroll, accounts payable and bookkeeping.

Mercer Hill

Mercer is a native of Augusta, GA. He attended Augusta College and served four years in the U.S. Air Force. He worked for Delta Airlines for more than 31 years before retiring in 2002. Mercer came to work at Carriage Lane in 2003 and with all of his handy skills and hard work, quickly became indespensible.
Mercer has been involved in ministry through facilitating support groups, leading Bible studies and small groups and lay counseling. He also enjoys working as an umpire for the Peachtree City Recreation League.
Mercer has three children and is the proud grandpa of two grandchildren.
