Philosophy of Ministry

The Carriage Lane Presbyterian Church College Ministry seeks to grow our college students by the means of grace. Spiritually mature college students are equipped to communicate the Gospel of Christ on the college campus, to build Christ's church and to equip students; to live all of life under Christ.

Goals

Growth in Grace - CLPC College Ministry aims to help students understand and use the means of grace which God has provided for Christian growth. This includes studying the Bible, developing a prayer life, understanding worship, and dependence on the Holy Spirit to die to sin and grow in righteousness.

Evangelism and Missions - College Christians have the great responsibility and privilege of proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ to the university community with the hope of reaching the world.

Fellowship and Service - Because Christians are united to Christ, they are also united to other believers. As Christians learn to participate by using their gifts and strengths, the body of Christ is built up.

Biblical World and Life View - Christianity is a way of seeing all of life. The ministry must go to the campus viewing life through God's written Word.

Reformed University Ministries (ruf.org) is an arm of the Presbyterian Church in America going to the college campus, proclaiming the good news of Christ. RUM and RUF are a big part of our students lives on campus.

Where we have been

For the last 9 years, Tim Gwin has been teaching and leading the college ministry at Carriage Lane PCA, which continues to grow by God's grace. In that time, we have completed a series on Systematic Theology; a series on Paul's Epistles; a series on Desiring God; selected chapters in the Gospels, and a series on Evangelism and Apologetics.

The Lord has blessed us with new leadership!  Dave & Joanne Brandes and Mark & BJ Gilzean are now leading this group to new heights of spiritual growth and christian fellowship-PRAISE THE LORD!   We are currently going through the book of Joshua on Sunday mornings and gathering for dinner and fellowship on selected dates.  Please see the CLPC Young Adults FaceBook page for more details.
