Carriage Lane Presbyterian Church, Peachtree City, GA
Ministries: Capital Campaign
Dedication

Carriage Lane Church enters 2007 after having met our first and very essential monetary goal in the recent Growing Together for God's Glory capital campaign.

We plan to keep you closely advised throughout the next three years as to the progress made in regard to money received against what has been pledged as well as results from expenditures made from time to time.

We will keep you updated through use of the following methods:

1. The church bulletin two times per month
2. Updates in Gabriel's Horn 8 to 10 times per year
3. Reports from the pulpit by Craig Jeffery twice a year
4. A special Growing Together for God's Glory letter twice a year

In addition, a year-end summary will be published on the web site.

As you have questions now or along the way, feel free to contact Craig Jeffery, Campaign Follow-up Director. (Refer to the church directory to contact him by e-mail or phone.)

Sincerely,

Your GTGG Follow-up Committee

A Brief History of Our Construction Funding

The estimated cost of the project was 3 million dollars. In the fall of 2000, every household in the church was asked to pray and seek God's will in their life as it related to their participation in this building campaign. We asked that God, through His people, would provide a significant portion of the total cost. The giving would be over and above the families' normal tithes and offerings. It would be of a sacrificial nature and be given over a three year period. A major emphasis of the campaign has been "not equal gifts but equal sacrifice." The difference between what was given and the cost of the project was financed.

In the campaign, we tried to estimate the total pledge amount that would be received. These were anticipated levels of pledges, any one of which would have been great. The kickoff goals of the campaign in the fall of 2000 were: Launch - $600,000, Challenge - $750,000, and Celebration - $900,000. After two months of prayerfully considering what the Lord would have each family do, the people of Carriage Lane responded. As we began construction of the new sanctuary in early 2001, the pledge amount had surpassed all goals and was 1.2 million dollars!

Now that the facility is completed, it includes:

A beautiful sanctuary that will seat 700-750 people and give us room to grow for years to come
State of the art audio and video for worship
A large lower level that acommodates adult and children's education, as well as choir needs.
A multi-pupose parlor for meetings, weddings, and a "cry room."

The Future
While the construction work is complete, there remains much financial work to be accomplished. The funding has been a great success and has enabled the structure to be built without excessive pressure on the church's operating budget. The loan on the balance is at a very favorable rate. It is important to realize, however, that we still have to pay monthly for the balance of the loan and so the work is still ongoing. We have much to be thankful for as we witness this sanctuary, built for God's glory, used to minister to future generations.
