About Us: Our Denomination
Presbyterian Church 2
Carriage Lane is a member of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA), which was founded in 1973. This denomination came into being because of a strong need for a scriptural, evangelical, Presbyterian and reformed witness for Christ. It is a denomination whose motto has been "true to the Scriptures, the reformed faith, and the great commission." It is a believing and confessional fellowship committed to God-centered worship, the preaching and teaching of God's Word, the sacraments, prayer, discipleship, evangelism, and missions. Its ministers and church officers affirm the great biblical doctrines of Christianity summarized in the Westminster Confession of Faith . The PCA is a rapidly growing denomination. In 2008 we had 340,852 members, 1,408 churches, and 285 mission churches all over North America. Its missions agency, Mission To The World (MTW), is represented by 610 career missionaries and 6,652 short term missionaries. The PCA is also represented by 100 military chaplains. Other agencies of the PCA include: Mission To North America (MNA), Christian Education and Publications (CE&P), Ridgehaven Conference and Retreat Center, Reformed University Ministries, Covenant College, and Covenant Seminary. Please see the PCA's website for more information. Together we are lifting high the banner of the gospel of Jesus Christ both locally and globally to see His Kingdom grow.
