Ministries: Mission Trips
World Map

Cherokee, NC: June 13-20. A team of thirty five youth and adult leaders traveled to Cherokee, NC, to conduct a weeklong day camp, Sonshine Bible Days to young children, a ministry to middle and high school teens, and to minister at Tsali Care, a senior citizen facility.  A new ministry was also added for young ladies with children.  This was the eleventh summer that our youth have gone to Cherokee and their diligence is bearing fruit in the lives of the Cherokee people.

Haiti: July 18-25. This summer fifteen Sr. High Youth and adult leaders took a trip to Haiti - the poorest country in the western hemisphere.  The trip centered around working in an orphanage and doing some construction work.  In a country that has been rocked by successive lines of hurricanes and where there are more than 610,000 orphans, Haiti not only needs humaniarian aid, but the gospel of Jesus Christ.  The Sr. High Youth went to meet these needs and sought be spent for Christ in a dying world.

Lima, Peru: July 23-31. A combined team of six people from CLPC and nine people from Grace PCA in Douglasville, GA, participated in ministry with Presbyterian church plants in Perales and Chilca, Peru. The team served by providing a dental clinic, helping with church construction projects, sharing the gospel, distributing Bibles and tracts, and helping to run a vacation Bible school.

Juarez, Mexico: October 4-8. This fall, a team of 18 adults will travel to Juarez, Mexico to build a home for a family in need, through partnership with Casas por Cristo (Homes because of Christ), "CpC," a missions organization that has built over 3,500 homes since its inception in 1993. The motto for CpC, "Building Homes... Changing Lives... Saving the Lost," highlights the premise that in order to reach people, they first need help meeting their basic physical needs.  We are excited about the opportunity to serve through building a home for a family that is currently living in a shelter made out of scrap materials, such as cardboard, pallets, and tarps, while sharing the gospel with the people in Juarez. Much has changed in Juarez in recent years, especially with the recent escalation of drug related violence.  The need is greater now than ever before, and so we go to Juarez in faith that this is what Christ would have us do.
